We Owe Our Lives to the USSR; We Hope for its Resurrection! Автор:

So many of us here in the "West" owe our very lives to the USSR, the country which gave 20 million lives to save the world from Hitler. And Bush's endless wars of conquest and slaughter prove how correct Lenin was, and prove that the best way forward --- for everyone, not just a corrupt or lucky few --- is indeed socialism. We hope that Russia returns to socialism, for the sake of the world !
Excuse me for my poor english. Mr. ANTIsocialist! You lived in socialist country? Socialism is good for people. We lived in USSR and we were happy, because we had money, we had free flats and we felt, that our government takes care of us. Вот. Школьная программа забыта напрочь.
Seems Mr ... anti-socialist (i consider that to be anti-humanism as well), forgot to mention that the war against the USSR was a war that history has never seen, it was a genocide of biblical magnitude, never in the history of mankind has there been anything so hideous and vile, the western front was nothing compared to it, although, in all fairness, the western front did help to relieve the eastern front, of course, only through the repeated pressure of Stalin to open it. and for the Lend Lease, what are boots without feet in it? those were the feet of Soviet soldiers! he clearly tries to revive the old myth of the \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"human waves and nothing else\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\", ... the USSR could not have won, if that was true. He also seems to forget that the war in Europe was already raging for 3 years before the Americans and their racist friend, Winston Churchill even set foot on continental Europe, 3 years! anyway, its not a coincidence that hitler himself hailed the United States in Mein Kampf and also praised the imperialism by the UK. not a coincidence at all, its also no coincidence that W.C. had interest in signing a pact with Mussolini, which they \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"destroyed\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\".
In many ways you are right, but the whole picture is a bit more complicated. The Second World War is presented in the West as a two-front war. Nazi Germany is presented as the incarnation of absolute evil (the fact that Hitler was NOT considered to be such during the period of 1933-1941 is conveniently overlooked). Then comes Stalin and Bolshevism. The approach to the USSR is a little bit more nuanced than what you think. The mainstream interpretation is that, almost involuntarily, Hitler helped Stalin to consolidate his rule over the Russian people. The message here is that Hitler was the worst possible choice to "liberate" the Soviet Union from Communism and Stalin, that had the Soviet Union been invaded by a more careful and less cruel force, then it would have been possible to drive a wedge between the people and the government.
Of Course, history is more nuanced than the way i put it earlier, but i can't really write an entire book on the forum. "...between the period of 1933-1941 ..." i think the USSR was hardly in a position to provoke (if it is the USSR you mean, by 1941 i think so), i think they were very lucky they could manage the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, all emotions set aside and looking with a realist eye at the situation, it was the best thing they could have hoped for, you seem to forget the social and economic situation of the USSR in the period between 1917 and 1939, from a primarily agragian to an industrial nation, and you expect it to defeat a rejuvinated industrial superpower? Stalin was already 20 years in power before WWII, it consolidated it further, sure, it posed a dilemma for the Western world, here we have the communist beast and the saviour of Europe. ha, they never flip flopped more during that time, those wealthy idiots. They already tried that, remember, the Civil War, didn't work (due to WWI, war wearniness, etc. etc.), even if it were another nation that invaded the USSR in that time, they would have stand a chance, they were up against the entire Soviet People, they wouldn't even have gotten an inch between the majority of the people and the gov't, thats my opinion, ... but it's fulitle to ask "what if" questions, entertaining but futile. by the way, you can just call me Mathieu.
The next elections will take place in December.Chávez is a candidate he will dispute his reelection.Venezuela under Chavez gouvernment (since 1999) is suffering with the high poorness and unequality..and the decadency of the infra-structure and the public health system .But Chávelz is still strong in Venezuela and we are sure that he will be reelected.
Venezuela ( Caracas) will be the seat of the International Social Forum, this week .
Bolivia
I think that Evo Morales will run toward the Lula style of gouvernement, althought he wants to be in the ”coalization’’ with his friends Fidel and Cházvez...a coalization against the U.S. ;-) !!!!!!!!!!
Morales will make nothing of really different is Bolivia..in fact he pretents to nationalize some gas natural enterprises and starts social programs ;-).
Mexico
The next elections will be in the next July , and we have a srtong left candidate...Andres Manual Obrador.
Uruguay
The actual uruguaian president is Tabará Vasquez he is from left...but he is too moderate. He also made accords with Bush. He is unfortunally keepimg the last (right) uruguaian gouvernment.
Peru
In the next elections , this year, a strong left candidate , Ollanta Humala, is one of the favorites to be the next Peruvian president!
The US is making one tough politician against Venezuela and Bolivia ( very soon...). The US is afraid of the left rash in Latin America settling military base in Paraguay ( what Brazil didn´t accepted..)
But the left here util this time is inapt to make one revolution in the mean that we know....is incapable to put the burgeoise out of the politic ...
